I just learned that a young lady we know is celebrating her 14th birthday. She's far more mature than her 14 years; she's a hard worker and member of a champion cheer team. A quickly made birthday card was needed.
Altenew stamps and dies to the rescue! For the base card and top layer panel, I used heavy linen card stock in cream.
I stamped the image with Distress Ink onto white card stock, and used the same ink and color to watercolor with. Once the images were stamped, I brushed water onto the flower first, and followed that with ink color applied to an acrylic block. I let that dry and came back with more brushstrokes of color without added water, using a light touch as I went. I also went over the stamped lines in the flowers with the dry brush and a dab of ink color; that brought out the lines in the stamp design.
A yellow Glaze Pen was used for the flower centers and stamens. Each image was then cut with the matching dies. A rectangle die was used as a top layer panel with a circle cut into the top center. The embossed handmade paper behind the flowers was trimmed to fit behind the open circle. Each blossom was placed in the circle, overlapping the circle border in places. The entire top panel was then adhered to the card base. The sentiment was stamped and cut with the matching die using Soft Finish card stock in white from Elizabeth Craft Designs. An inside sentiment was stamped "What a Wonderful Day".
