I think I've been in a time warp. Where did the last half of the year go? A lot happened in the last 4 months with trips to Las Vegas, London, Hawaii and Orlando; and oral surgery that required 24 stitches on the roof of my mouth accompanied with a soft food diet for 5 weeks. Now it's the new year and a new decade. Happy New Year!
Birthdays happen quite often in December thru February. Here we go . . .
"Partners" Hero Arts and Gina K Designs Clear Stamp Set (floral design and sentiment)
Ranger Embossing Powder -- Queen's Gold
Ranger Distress Oxide Inks (Pumice Stone & Faded Jeans) and Ranger Distress Ink (Shaded Lilac, Bundled Sage & Iced Spruce) for watercoloring
Tsukineko/IMAGINE Crafts VersaFine Clair Pigment Ink in Twilight (sentiment); VersaMark (floral design)
Bazzill Card Stock in Rock Candy (card panel)
Strathmore Watercolor Card 105-150 (A7) (base card)
MISTI Stamp Positioner
The card panel was cut down to 4-3/4" x 6-3/4". Using the stamp positioner, stamp the floral design with VersaMark watermark ink. Apply gold embossing powder and heat. I love the Queen's Gold powder because it really shines bright and will emboss very fine lines. Using a clear block, I applied the blue and pumice stone inks to use as a watercolor palette for the petals. It took several applications on the gray card stock to get the blue tones to show. I used a heat tool in between layers. Using another clear block, I applied the green inks to it to watercolor the leaves. At the end, I used the heat tool again on the backside to flatten out the panel. The sentiment was stamped with the Twilight Pigment Ink. The panel was adhered to the base card.
I love the blues and greens on gray, and I have a feeling I'll be using that combination quite often.
ONE MORE NOTE: I am beyond excited! Dina Wakley is coming to Impress Cards and Crafts in Tukwila, WA on February 21-22 to lead 4 classes. I've signed up for all 4 classes. If you are interested, call the store NOW because I'm sure the classes will sell out (206-901-9101). Impress is only a skip, hop and a jump from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport if you need to fly in.
Thank you for stopping by. I'm planning to post more frequently and hope you'll check in often.
