Abstract Blessing

Another day of cardmaking fun with Dina Kowal's Brushstroke stamps from Impression Obsession; I also added a Grunge Circle stamp to the mix from IO, designed by Yvonne Blair, and an Open Brush Swirl stamp by Alesa Baker. Cleaning, purging and organizing is a two-fold dichotomy. I find things forgotten about or found; and I'm limited as to what's around my work table because of the ongoing work. I reorganized my stash of IMAGINE Crafts' Amplify! and StazOn Glaze, so Ithought it was as good a time as any to use it.

I squeezed the Amplify onto my craft mat and stamped the Brushstroke 3 stamp with it onto Skin card stock in black; then, I immediately washed my stamp off with a damp rag. It was dried with a heat gun so the Amplify! would puff up and provide a texture. Because the Amplify! was stamped onto the card stock, the layer was not so thick. Afterward, I squeezed StazOn Glaze onto my craft mat and applied each color with a watercolor brush that was damp but not wet when it mixed with the StazOn Glaze. It glossed over the Amplify! texture beautifully. I was hesitant to add the Gold Studio Glaze because I had wanted a more yellow color; however, I'm absolutely ecsstatic that I did use it. It offers such a glittery sheen. After, I fussy-cut around the brushstroke image.

I stayed with my affirmations after yesterday's tragedy in Belgium.

This card has no layering panels. I did layer the fussy-cut brushstroke with glue dots. I used a Strathmore watercolor card and masked off the front so I wouldn't mess it up while stamping and watercoloring.

The circle images and sentiment were embossed.

Carole Dion has created another beautiful card using the Nuance with Gesso to make the colors more pastel. Don't you love it?
