Penny Black's "Sweet Perfume" Bouquet

I just love the beautiful floral bouquet stamp designs from Penny Black. "Sweet Perfume" is one I think I'll be using quite often. Coloring it gave me the opportunity to become reacquainted with my Copic markers.

Stamp the floral image onto 110# smooth white card stock Memento ink (Tuxedo Black). Color with Copic alcohol markers. Use a light base tone over entire flower surface; go back in with a darker tone for shadows, and blend out with either the original light tone or a tone in between the darker and lighter tones. Because the surface area was not that big, I chose to stay with the lighter tone, darker tone and blend back with the lighter tone. I used two different green tones to differentiate the two types of leaves. The stamens and other flower centers were highlighted with a glaze pen in black for some dimension. The overall design was then fussy-cut with detail-cutting scissors.

The base card is 5" wide and 6.5" tall from the Classic Crest card stock. The So Silk card stock was cut 3" wide and 6.25" tall. The Memory Box collage die was placed in the upper left corner of the card strip; the die-cut design barely peeks out over the top left of the stamped image. Before adhering the panel strip to the base card, stamp the sentiment at the lower center with the archival ink. After the strip is adhered to the card base, the stamped image is adhered with foam mounting tape.

The coloring was quick; the fussy-cutting took me about 15 minutes. This is such a quick and simple card layout that I hope you'll try. You can't miss with the beautiful floral stamps from Penny Black!

Thank you for checking in. I have a lot of catch-up swaps to do this weekend and I hope to share some of those with you. See you soon.
