It's the Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend. We've enjoyed a blessed day with some of our family. I've avoided the Black Friday store rush, although I do admit I did a little on-line shopping. And I continue to work on my holiday cards and class projects I've brought home.
I recently joined a Yahoo group, Oriental Stamp Art. They offered up a card exchange. So, here are the two cards; we send a card to the 2 people following our name on the exchange list. Great idea!
This card features two stamps from Local King Rubber Stamps, and a sentiment stamp from Magenta.
I stamped the cherry blossom with VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I filled in the color with pearlescent pastel watercolors. This stamp has a matching die; I die cut a piece of white card stock to serve as a mask. After temporarily attaching the die cut over the stamped image with removable tape, I over-stamped the entire panel with the background stamp. Because I was using the MISTI, I could re-stamp where I needed to.
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark on a piece of vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Both horizontal edges were hand torn. The vellum was placed across the stamped card panel and folded back on each side. It was taped down in the back.
The stamped panel was adhered to a piece of champagne-colored gloss metallic paper, which was then adhered to the card base.

My Sweet Petunia: MISTI Stamp Positioner
My second card is quite simple and I really like how it turned out. The brown ink really went well with the brown accents in the washi paper design.
The stamped panel was trimmed to 2.75" x 3.75" and then stamped with the image. For the mat panel (2-7/8" x 3-7/8"), I used a brown metallic card stock. I cut a piece of washi paper 5-1/8" x 3-7/8") and adhered it to another mat panel using the brown metallic card stock (4" x 5.25"). That was then attached to the A2 white card base.
